Aggression MMA II takes place tonight in Edmonton, Alberta at the Edmoton Expo Centre, doors open at 7:00pm local time.

The Extreme MMA Western Canadian Championships will feature dozens of amateur fights as well as a 155lb. title fight and happens tonight at Nanaimo, British Columbia's Port Theatre. Doors open at 7:00pm/PST. B.C. MMA Fan will be in attendance and will have results available on the site as soon as possible.

More than 40 fighters from across Western Canada will battle in Nanaimo's Port Theatre Feb. 5 to earn a spot in the Extreme MMA (mixed martial arts) Canadian Championship this spring in Vancouver.

Fighters in six weight divisions will participate in the Extreme MMA Western Canadian Championships in Nanaimo. Winners of each division move on to the Canadian championships on April 23.

Veteran Nanaimo promoter Don Arnott said local spectators can expect an explosive action-filled evening at the Port Theatre and that there are a number of local fighters on the card.

"I have never promoted an event with so many MMA fighters coming from so many different locations in Western Canada," he said. "The rules for Extreme MMA ensure non-stop action for every fight and it looks like there will be 34 fights in less than a four-hour time span."

He said the Port Theatre is a perfect venue because every seat will be able to look down into the ring.

Nanaimo's Josh Shepherd, who is undefeated in both boxing and MMA So You Wanna Fight events, will take part in the event, fighting for the lightweight (155-pound) division title. He is one of nine Nanaimo fighters on the card.
