Apologies to all the MMA Fans out there, but I've found myself stuck in about 1994 with the slowest dial-up Internet I've ever encountered. Needless to say, trying to load 21st century web pages using Canucks-cup-run era technology is not going well.
A quick heads-up, I managed to load Sherdog.com long enough to learn that Paul "Semtex" Daley (22-8-2) will face Dustin "McLovin" Hazelett (12-4), not the now-injured Carlos Condit, at UFC 108 (Jan. 2nd).
Daley shocked fans in his octagon debut with a brutal, first-round TKO of Martin Kampmann at September's UFC 103. The news that Carlos Condit has pulled out might be for the best, though. A fight with Condit didn't really make much sense for Daley, since Condit actually lost to Kampmann in his last octagon appearance. This is definitely great news for Dustin Hazelett who will finally get to fight after his UFC 106 match against Karo Parisyan was suddenly cancelled when "The Heat" suffered some sort of panic attack. Due to an undisclosed injury, this will also be Hazelett's first fight in over a year. Long story short, we have an excellent match up of Daley's striking vs. Hazelett's jiu-jitsu to look forward to in the early New Year at UFC 108.
BC MMA Fan will be back to the future tomorrow with full-card predictions for UFC 107. It's time to get the site's prediction record back on track.
