Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva To Be Co-Main Event at UFC 108

Earlier in the week it was announced that Vitor Belfort (19-8) would be challenging, middleweight champion, Anderson Silva (25-4) in the main event at UFC 108 on January, 2nd 2010. Well, according to mmamania. com, that fight has been joined by a co-main event of "Sugar" Rashad Evans (13-1-1) vs. Thiago Silva (14-1).

Evans was originally scheduled to fight Quinton Jackson at UFC 107, but, due to Jackson's sudden desire to pity fools, "Sugar" will have to settle for fighting Silva, instead. Then again, that shouldn't be too hard for Evans because Thiago recently knocked out Rashad's good friend and training partner, Kieth Jardine (14-6-1), at UFC 102 in August. Evans is an emotional fighter and a loyal friend who'll no doubt be eager to exact some revenge on the hard-hitting Brazilian.

Incidentally, prior to Thiago's fight with Jardine, both Evans' and Sliva's last appearances in the octagon were one-sided K.O. losses to, current light-heavyweight champ, Lyoto Machida (15-0). Though it's also worth noting that those losses to Machida constitute each fighter's only professional defeat.
