UFC 109: Paydays and Live Gate

While the pay-per-view numbers will not be known for sometime, it has already been announced that UFC 109 drew 10,687 attendees to the Mandalay Bay Events Center for a live gate of $2.27 million. If those well-above-average figures for this slightly sub par card aren't evidence of a brewing economic recovery, then I don't know what is.

The total disclosed payout to the fighters was $944 thousand, plus an additional $240 thousand in disclosed bonuses, for a total of $1.18 Million, with the main and co-main event fighters taking home roughly %50 of the total loot.

Pay Outs:

Randy Couture: $250,000 (no win bonus) + $60,000 "Submission O.T.N." bonus = $310,000
def. Mark Coleman: $60,000

Chael Sonnen: $32,000 + $32,000 win bonus + $60,000 "Fight O.T.N." bonus = $124,000
def. Nate Marquardt: $45,000 + $60, 000 "Fight O.T.N." bonus = $105,000

Paulo Thiago: $15,000 + $15,000 win bonus = $30,000
def. Mike Swick: $43,000

Demian Maia: $31,000 + $31,000 win bonus = $62,000
def. Dan Miller: $15,000

Matt Serra: $75,000 + $75,000 win bonus + $60,000 Knock-Out O.T.N = $210,000
def. Frank Trigg: $30,000

Mac Danzig: $20,000 + $20,000 win bonus = $40,000
def. Justin Buchholz: $8,000

Melvin Guillard: $14, 000 + $14,000 win bonus = $28,000
def. Ronys Torres: $4,000

Rob Emerson: $12,000 + $12,000 win bonus = $24,000
def. Phillipe Nover: $10,000

Phil Davis: $5,000 + $5,000 win bonus = $10,000
def. Brian Stann: $17,000

Chris Tuchscherer: $10,000 + $10,000 win bonus = $20, 000
def. Tim Hague: $7000

Joey Beltran: $6,000 + $6,000 win bonus = $12,000
def. Rolles Gracie: $15,000

Note: These numbers do not include the so-called "locker room" bonuses that the UFC often hands out to fighters who put on exciting or impressive performances.
